The difference between pain and suffering

Wouldn’t we all like to live a life free of pain? I am sure we would, but it’s just not possible. But does that mean we have to suffer? No.

Pain is an integral part of life, and it all depends how we live it.

What is pain anyway? Basically, it is a sensation in our body that we don’t like to experience. It can appear to be simply physical, such as headaches or a sore back. And pain can also derive from an emotional experience, such as the loss of a loved on or the feeling of isolation and loneliness. No more rush!

One of my clients went back to work with a proposition that I really like: “No more rush!”

I really like the idea! I don’t know about you, but when I came back from vacation, my batteries were recharged, I felt strong and was in a good mood and had this sense of being calm and whole. Amazing what a few days or weeks of disconnecting and living with less structure and pressure and following your immediate wishes and impulses can do.

So then you’re back, and the routine starts, and with it the list of things to do and the sense of wanting to accomplish or finish things. Leer más

Acceptance and Happiness – Meditation Tool and a Way of Life

Acceptance is the key to a happy life. But in our everyday life we find many examples of rejection. We reject ourselves and others. We look into the mirror and think “I’m so fat!”, or we ride our car and get angry because someone squeezed in just in front of us. There is a vast variety of situations when we wish things to be different.

To accept ourselves is the first step to accepting other people or a certain life situation. When we first direct our attention and our focus towards being able to accept things as they are, the way to more freedom and satisfaction can open up.

That which we reject in other people is the same as that what we reject in ourselves. We don’t want to have certain emotions or character traits, and we don’t want to even perceive them. When we are angry at someone else, we disrespect or devaluate them, this may have to do with those interior parts that we reject in ourselves. Leer más

I am and I feel happy – a testimony

Let go of fears, change the way you see yourself, feel worthy, free and happy – that’s possible! Many times I get to know people who look at me with eyes wide open when I tell them that there is a solution, that change is possible, and that it doesn’t have to be difficult or take long. But, how could it be explained better than with the words of somebody who has experienced this process? I am giving my thanks to Eva, a 38 year old teacher, for sharing her experience with us.
